LIVINGSTON –David Arthur Thompson, age 69, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at home with his family by his side. He was born on August 6, 1954; the son of Russell and Genevieve (Fritz) Thompson. David spent the first 15 years of his life living in Montana before his family relocated to Highland. David was a hard worker. He spent most of his life working as a dairy farmer, which he enjoyed very much. In addition to his time on the dairy farm, David was an avid gardener. He loved growing and selling his vegetables. Most summer days, David could be found at his vegetable stand at the end of his driveway on Highway 80. He also enjoyed cutting his grass and spending time with his cats.
Family was a huge part of David’s life. He enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews. He could often be found walking around Livingston visiting friends and stopping in at local restaurants for a cup of coffee or soda. David had a huge heart and wanted to help people, no matter how much or little he had. He was generous with his time and resources. David’s generous, kind heart will be carried on even in his passing. David chose for his body to be donated for scientific study, so that he can continue to help those in need.
David is survived by his niece and nephew, John (Shelley Drew) Thompson and Amanda (Jonathon Schumacher) Thompson; great nieces and nephews: Genevieve, Geneva, Garrison, Lily, Laureli, and Wyatt; sister in-law, Dawn; and beloved cat, Casper. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Thompson.
