Daniel John Davies, age 83, of Fennimore passed away on Friday June 24, 2022, at the Boscobel Care and Rehabilitation in Boscobel, WI. He was born on August 6, 1938, in Wingville Township Grant County, WI the son of George and Rowena (Bitney) Davies. He was united in marriage to Sandra Freymiller on September 15, 1962, in Fennimore.
Dan farmed in the Hickory Grove Township from 1962 until 1986 and then moved to Fennimore. He was then employed by Fennimore Agri-Systems until there dissolvement in 1992. Dan worked other various jobs throughout the area until being employed at Lands’ End of Dodgeville until his retirement. In 2008, he moved to Barneveld to be closer to family until returning to Fennimore in 2019. Dan cherished his girls and grandchildren and loved supporting them through all their endeavors. Dan was a proud member of the Southwest Wisconsin 2-Cylinder Club, and the Smoke Eating Snow Squirrels. He enjoyed going fishing, country drives, working on and driving his father’s, which Dan restored, 1945 John Deere B, and later feeding all his neighborhood squirrels.
Dan is survived by his beloved three daughters; Shelly Davies of Dodgeville, Sherry (Bob) Whitish of Barneveld, and Sue (Craig) Howell of Belmont, and proud grandfather of four grandchildren; Hannah and Jordyn Whitish and Dawson and Kennedy Howell along with his sister Beverly (Buzz) Hartnett of Lancaster.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra on May 4, 1999, brother Ralph “Bud” Davies and sister Betty Trollop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday June 29, 2022, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore. Immediately following the committal service food and time of fellowship will be held at the Fennimore United Methodist Church Hall. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday morning.
