Cleo B. Reithmeyer

cleo-reithmeyerFennimore – Cleo B. Reithmeyer, age 94, of Fennimore, died on Thursday morning Oct. 6, 2016 at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. Cleo was born on April 2, 1922 in Mt. Zion, WI, the daughter of Jacob and Mable (Sabins) Trumm. She married Mark “Ike” McCluskey in 1939. Ike preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1974 and Cleo was later married to Zeno Reithmeyer in 1978 until his death on Feb. 10, 2000.

Cleo began her working career as a telephone operator in Mt. Zion. She and her husband Ike owned and operated Koschkee Transfer in Fennimore for numerous years. Cleo was an excellent bookkeeper and was often referred to by the employees as “Grandma”. Cleo was an independent woman who took great pride in running a successful business and was never afraid to put in an honest days work. She loved her home and could often be seen working in her yard and garden and was an excellent cook and liked watching birds. Cleo was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Grandma “Kitty” will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society and St. Croix Hospice for the their compassionate care.

Cleo is survived by her four children; Laurie (Jim) Whitish of Fennimore, Jacque (David) Smith of Montfort, Darlene (John) Vogt of Fennimore and Richard (Judy) McCluskey of Paris TN, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, great-grandchildren Kayla Stephens and Cody Peterson, four sisters; Ella McManamee, Caroline Nicholson, Gussie Rider and Mildred Miller and two brothers Jake and Danny Trumm.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon Oct. 9, 2016 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Father Miguel Galvez will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Sunday. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Cleo B. Reithmeyer.
