Edmund, WI-Camy L. Nelson, age 60 passed away on Sunday July 15, 2012 at Upland Hills Health Center in Dodgeville with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 25, 1952 in Dodgeville the daughter of Richard and Charlotte (Campbell) Clemo. Camy married Bill Spurley on July 31, 1971 and then was united in marriage to Craig Nelson on June 29, 1991 in Dodgeville.
Following graduation from Dodgeville High School, Camy enjoyed raising her family before going to work at Land’s End in Dodgeville. She had been working there for the past 25 years until recently retiring due to her health. Camy loved crafting and was the biggest Wisconsin sports fan; cheering on her beloved Brewers, Badgers and Packers. She also liked gardening, picking raspberries, and watching birds. She and Norge loved spending time with family and conversation, while floating on Blackhawk Lake. Camy’s passion in life was her husband, children and grandchildren. She greatly appreciated all her family and friends throughout her courageous battle and knew it was not a battle fought alone. Camy touched the hearts of everyone she knew and will be greatly missed.
Camy is survived by her beloved husband; Craig “Norge” Nelson of Edmund, three children; Chad (Heather) Spurley of Verona, Adam Spurley of Cobb, Travis Spurley of Dodgeville, five grandchildren; Sam and Max Spurley, Gabrielle, Hayley, and Kianna Gaines, her parents; Dick & Charlotte Clemo of Beverly Hills, FL, and a brother;Rick Clemo of Palm Harbor, FL, brother & sister-in-laws; Karla (Mark) Flanagan of Cobb, Benita (Dan) Schmitz of Mineral Point along with several nieces, nephews, and “My Friend” Kathy Nondorf, Richard Melnick, and Mary Ellen Tredinnick.
Camy was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law Carl & Margaret Nelson
A celebration of life and sharing of memories will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon July 29, 2012 at the Dodger Bowl Banquet Hall in Dodgeville with fellowship and food to follow. A private family burial of cremains will be held at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Camy L. Nelson.
