Brian L. Meiners, age 45 of Fennimore, died on Wed. July 16, 2014 at Meriter Hospital in Madison due to complications of a long illness. Brian was born on August 20, 1968 in Waukesha, WI the son of Gary and Carolyn (McCollough) Meiners. He married Robin Weist on Aug. 13, 1988 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.
Following graduation from Waukesha North High School in 1986, Brian and Robin lived, worked, and raised a family in the Milwaukee area for 17 years. In 2004, they moved to Fennimore where Brian was employed at World of Variety for the past 10 years until his recent health complications. Brian loved spending time with his children and grandsons, and his three dachshund, especially Buster. Brian also enjoyed attending Fennimore High School sporting events, going to the casino with Robin, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, and collecting football cards. In his free time, Brian liked to fish and constructed stained-glass artwork. Brian was a big-hearted man whose dedication to family and caring demeanor will forever be remembered.
Brian is survived by his wife Robin of Fennimore, two children; Brandon (Felicia) Meiners of Boscobel, and Cortney Meiners of Fennimore, two grandsons Jonathan and Wyatt, parents Gary and Carolyn Meiners of Prairie du Chien, sister Darlene (Chris) Meiners of Madison, brother Jerry (Jenny) Meiners of Whitewater, father-in-law Donnie Weist of Fennimore, sister-in-law Corie (Dana) Furuseth of Fennimore, and brother-in-laws: Brad Weist of Fennimore and Kevin Weist of Davenport, IA.
Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Chester and Beatrice McCollough and mother-in-law Mary Lou Weist.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday July 21, 2014 at Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Fennimore. Father Miguel Galvez of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Sunday evening July 20, 2014 at Larson Family Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Monday morning.
