On September 4th of 2020, Beverly Mae White, 81, of Fennimore was called back to her heavenly home, and let me tell you that home will be spotless. She was born on July 1st, 1939 to Gerald and Lucielle (Fritsch) Munns in Boscobel. She grew up on a small family dairy farm in Hickory Grove Township.
Beverly married her loving husband, Virgil F. White, on December 14, 1957. Together they had 3 boys, Randy White (Diane Clark) of Fennimore, Bernie White of Lancaster, and Fred (Amy) White of Bagley. Another special child in Beverly’s life was Dawn Phelps of Prairie du Chien who she enjoyed taking care of for many years.
Beverly was a dedicated mother and grandmother who never missed any sporting event, school function, or any other event where she could cheer on those she loved. She spent many years being a leader of the Mt. Hope Cardinals 4-H club and took great pride in being the founder of the Mt. Hope Dairy Days parade. She always enjoyed line dancing and playing cards with friends. She was found pride in being part of Sew-n-Sew at church and made many crocheted pieces for her grandchildren.
After selling the farm and moving to town in ’86, she dedicated over 20 years to her residents at Good Samaritan Society, where she was awarded employee of the year in ’93 while serving as Activity Director. She and Virgil enjoyed camping in Bagley, where they visited with friends and family and made many treasured memories. She had a fondness for all animals, except the rabbits that ate her plants. Beverly was always there for anyone who needed her and had a special way of talking people through tough times, and boy, did she love to talk!
Beverly was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary -Grey-Wachter-Murphy Post Mt. Hope WI, as well as Grant County, WI American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer.
“Gigi Bev” was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren: Matthew (Kassi) White, Amanda (Scott) Kempel, Michelle (Tom) Christiansen, Ariel (Alex) Johnson, Brianna White, Kevin White, Emma Merz, and Ashton White; and 8 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Beverly was preceeded in death by her parents Gerald and Lucielle; and she is survived by her husband Virgil, sons Randy, Bernie, and Fred, siblings Geraldine Keene, Dennis Munns, and Roger (Diane) Munns.
