Aelred H. Runde, age 102, of Lancaster, WI passed away on Monday March 27, 2023, at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on September 22, 1920, in Cuba City the son of Walter and Bernice (Splinter) Runde. Aelred was united in marriage to Pearl Bass on December 27, 1941, at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.
Aelred farmed in rural Lancaster for many years until retiring at the age of 75. While farming, he also assisted with cattle breeding throughout the area along with hauling milk for Schurman’s and setting stones for the Lancaster Monument Company. Once he retired and moved to the city of Lancaster and loved going fishing and working in his garden. He also enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports fan. Aelred looked forward to his annual fish fries with family to celebrate his birthday. He was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church.
Aelred is survived by his three children; Larry (Judy) Runde of Lancaster, Trudy Runde of Madison, and Terry Runde, five grandchildren; Amy Runde, Walter Runde, Shannon (Mark) Broker, Kristal Runde, and Karen (Mike) Jeardeau, and two great-grandchildren; Kaylee and Tyler Broker.
Aelred was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pearl on April 11, 2011, and two sisters Alice Runde and Leta Hoffman, and two brothers-in-law Harold Bass and Andrew Hoffman.
Visitation
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Thursday March 30, 2023, at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Friday morning.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday March 31, 2023, at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.
