Roy E. Danz, age 95, of Livingston, WI passed away on Friday morning November 26, 2021, at his residence in rural Livingston. He was born October 20, 1926, in LaMoure, ND, the son of Ernest and Minnie (Scheidegger) Danz. Roy was united in marriage to Ruth Lambie on November 27, 1953, in East Peoria, IL.
Roy and Ruth farmed in East Peoria, IL until the early 1980’s. Wanting to be closer to family, they purchased a farm in rural Livingston. Roy loved farming and it was his lifelong passion. Farming was not work to Roy. He lived for being outside, working long days, and was always ready for the new dawn of each day. He actively farmed for over 85 years and past his passion on to his children and grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his four children: David Danz of Platteville, Ernest Danz of Livingston, James (Paula) Danz of Livingston, Beverly (Richard) Yaun of New Glarus, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Minnie Danz, wife Ruth on July 11, 2020, father and mother-in-law James and Grace Lambie, daughter-in-law Elfie Danz, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Florence (Walter) Lelm, Mildred (John) Goodwin, brother Leo Danz, brother-in-law James Lambie, two nephews Brian Lambie and Larry Danz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday November 30, 2021, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, WI with burial to follow in the Rock Church Cemetery in Clifton Township Grant County, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday morning.
