Joseph W. Plautz, age 70, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Tuesday evening October 26, 2021, at his residence in Hickory Grove Township Grant County, Wisconsin after a four-year battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He was born on December 19, 1950, in Lancaster the son of William and Florence (Neff) Plautz.
Joe graduated from Fennimore High School in 1969. He had a passion for farming and purchased the farm in Hickory Grove Township from his parents in 1974. Joe considered himself a caretaker of his livestock and a nurturer of the land. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading the latest issues of Ag News, along with watching the Green Bay Packers. Joe was an independent and simple man who had a great love and appreciation for his family and farming.
Joe is survived by his sister Barbara (Dan) Simpson of Belvidere, IL and his niece Christina (Matthew) Konecke of Huntley, IL.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother James Plautz, and his sister Mary Plautz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday November 1, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore with burial in St. Clement Catholic Church Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall. Memorials may be given in Loving Memory of Joseph W. Plautz to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
