Barbara J. Lenz, age 89, of Fennimore passed away on Saturday morning July 17, 2021 at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. She was born on December 3, 1931 in Tomah, WI the daughter of Milo and Florence (Becker) Kasper. Barbara was united in marriage to Lloyd Lenz on July 3, 1948 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Liberty Township.
Barb enjoyed being home and raising her family. She loved being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. After her family grew up and attended school, Barbara was employed at the Fennimore High School as a secretary. She later worked for the Southwest Library System and as a librarian at the Dwight Parker Public Library in Fennimore.
Barb loved supporting her family and looked forward to all the grandchildren’s endeavors. She was there biggest fan. Barb also enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers, and the Brewers. She liked being outdoors working in her garden, cross county skiing, going for long walks, knitting, crocheting, sewing and spending time with neighbors and friends. Barbara was an active member of the St. Paul’s UCC until its closing and also served on their cemetery board.
Barbara is survived by her five children; Carol (Harry) Kreul of Fennimore, David (fiancé Theresa Ley) Lenz of Dodgeville, Linda (Graham) Terry of Racine, Sue Frey of Deforest, and Jerry (Robin) Lenz of Fennimore, 16 grandchildren and many wonderful great and great-great grandchildren, three sisters; Dorothy Nelson, Louise Furrer, and Debi Kasper.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd on April 27, 1994, grandson Anthony Lenz, son John Lenz, and two sisters, Karen Anderson and Donita Wehrle.
A Public Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday July 22, 2021 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Liberty Township Grant County, WI. There will be a gathering for family and friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the cemetery on Thursday morning. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family.
