Robert W. Delkamp

Robert William Delkamp, age 76, of Montfort, WI passed away on Monday April 26, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 29, 1944 in Dodgeville the son of William and Marcella (Yanna) Delkamp. Robert graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1962. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962 until being honorable discharged in 1966.

Returning home, Bob attended the Southwest Technical College and received his Automotive Technician degree. Wanting to be outdoors, he decided to work construction his entire life. Bob was employed for Jim Rule at Rule Construction for 10 years, for Russel Nelson doing underground construction for 12 years and then Wingra Stone operating a pay loader for 13 years until retiring at the age of 63. Bob enjoyed trout fishing at Castle Rock and Blue River, using various calls to view wildlife closer, flying model airplanes, and collecting die cast tractors and farm machinery. He also liked working on cars; watching TV, especially star trek, and making his daily rounds, visiting with friends. After the death of his father, Robert’s dedication to the wellbeing and care for his mother was unmatched. He was a dedicated member of St. John’s, the Montfort VFW and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #139.

Robert is survived by his three siblings; Gary (Sandy) Delkamp of Rogersville, TN, William (Cindy) Delkamp of Zimmerman, MN, and Beverly (Michael) Gerken of Rogersville, TN, along with special nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew Michael Schneider.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday April 30, 2021 at St. John Nepomuc Catholic Church in Castle Rock Township Grant County Wisconsin with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Friday morning at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, Wisconsin.
