Deborah Ann “Debbie” Schmieder, age 69, of Fennimore passed away on Monday March 29, 2021 at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. She was born on March 8, 1952 in Spring Grove, IL the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Emrick) Poehls. Debbie was married to Ronald Schmieder in October of 1972 in LaCrosse.
Debbie graduated from Fennimore High School in 1970. She moved to LaCrosse for a few years until her marriage to Ron. They raised their family in Tomah until Ron’s untimely death. She was very proud of her family and the fact that her oldest grandson chose to enlist in the United States Army. Debbie moved back to Fennimore in 1999 to be closer to family where she had been residing at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing since 2007.
Deborah is survived by her two children; Dawn (Tom) Pala and Frank Schmieder; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three sisters; Sharon Poehls of Lancaster, Beverly (Glen) Graham of Fennimore, and Patricia (Wayne) Jerrett of Lancaster.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron, son Charlie, and father and mother-in-law George and Irene Schmieder.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday April 10, 2021 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in Stitzer United Methodist Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation held prior to the memorial service. The memorial services may be viewed by zoom with ID# 3944053123 and PASSWORD# 392781.
