Leroy E. “Mac” McKinley, age 90, of Fennimore, WI passed away on Friday March 19, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Madison. He was born on October 5, 1930 in Boscobel the son of Roy and Edna (Schaudt) McKinley.
Leroy graduated from Boscobel High School in 1949 and soon after married Eleanor Schoellig on Nov 9, 1950. He was drafted into the United State Army serving from 1951 until being honorable discharged in 1953 stationed in Korea. In 1958, he started Mac’s Super Service in Fennimore for the next 49 years. Mac enjoyed hunting, golfing, gambling, fishing, and having coffee with friends. Leroy was a member of the Boscobel VFW where he served as commander from 1960-1961. He also was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Fennimore Lions Club.
Leroy is survived by his two children; Lesa (Tom) Weeden of Dodgeville, and Bruce (Kathy) McKinley of Spring Green, grandchildren; Sarah Weeden and John (Lizzy Allen) Weeden and step-grandson Jeff (Krissy) Schneider and sons of Boscobel.
As to Leroy’s wishes, no memorial services will be held. A Private burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore. The Larson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family and memorials may be sent here at 925 10th St. Fennimore, WI 53809.
