Larry J. Leffler, age 79, of Fennimore passed away on Wednesday November 25, 2020 at the Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born on September 5, 1941 in Marietta Township Grant County, WI the son of William and Hester (Wiltrout) Leffler. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Smith on November 5, 1966 at the Fennimore United Methodist Church.
Larry graduated from Fennimore High School in 1959. He was employed for five years at Rayovac in Fennimore along with taking over the family farm. Larry took great pride in farming and was able to receive the honor of a Century Farm. In 2006, Larry sold his cattle and began enjoying everyday and being outside on his property. He loved cutting wood, mowing grass, plowing snow, and working in his wood shop. Larry was the neighbor that could be counted on. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially doing fieldwork. He and Charlotte also enjoyed going on bus tours and visiting various places throughout the United States. Larry was a generous man who loved life, adored his children and grandchildren, and a stranger was just a friend who Larry just hadn’t met yet.
Larry is survived by his wife Charlotte of Fennimore, four children; Walter (Stacy) Leffler of Fennimore, Lynn Leffler of Boscobel, Benji Leffler of Fennimore, and Holly (Nate) Gilberts of Prairie du Chien, three grandchildren; Brayden, Breleigh, and Bella Leffler, brother Glen (Diane) Leffler of Bagley and two nephews; David (Jeannie) Leffler and Daniel Leffler.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Charles and Harold “Nip” Leffler.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at the Bethel Cemetery in Hickory Grove Township Grant County. The Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore is assisting the family and cards of sympathy may be sent here at 925 10th St. Fennimore, WI 53809.
