Loren L. Cadwell, age 89, of Cassville, WI passed away on Wednesday morning November 18, 2020 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on March 1, 1931 in Cassville the son of Clarence and Margaret (Adrian) Cadwell. He was united in marriage to Mary Reding on September 21, 1985 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville.
Loren graduated from Cassville High School and then entered the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. After being honorable discharged, he returned home and joined his father’s business. Loren delivered gas and oil for farm and home for several years until retiring in 1987. After his marriage to Mary, they purchased the Korner Kard Shoppe in Cassville. Together they operated their store until 1993. Together, he and Mary enjoyed retired life. They loved ballroom dancing along with traveling in their RV. They spent their winters in Arizona, and while returning home, visiting numerous different states. Loren liked to be around people, spending time with the boys each morning having coffee. He also liked going to the river fishing and duck hunting. He also enjoyed a night out eating at various places and not afraid to try new things to eat. Loren loved the community of Cassville. He was a member of the Cassville VFW and American Legion, the St. Charles Catholic Church and their Parish Council, and a past member of Cassville Fire Department, the Historical Society, the Tourism Committee, the Harbor Commission, and the Twin-O-Rama Board. Loren’s wonderful sense of humor along with his quick wit will be cherished and deeply missed. He enjoyed everyday and felt blessed to have a loving wife along with being apart of such a wonderful community.
Loren is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Mary of Cassville, three sisters; Ruth Butler of Deforest, Judy Guenther of Wauwatosa, and Mary (Larry) MacLawhorn of Edwards, CO, along with nine very special nieces and nephews.
Loren was preceded in death by is parents, four brother-in-laws; Pat Butler, Bill Guenther, Helmet Klug, and Todd Narowetz.
A public graveside service with Military Honors and the Fireman’s Last Call will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday November 23, 2020 at the St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery in Cassville. Gathering at the cemetery for family and friends will begin at 1:00 P.M. Monday afternoon at the cemetery. A “Celebration of Loren’s Life” will be held at a later date.
