Lavon Marie Bollant, age 81, of Fennimore, passed away on Friday October 30, 2020, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fennimore. She was born on October 26, 1939 in Boscobel the daughter of Hubert and Daisey (Howell) Collins.
Lavon graduated from Fennimore High School with the class of 1957. Lavon was united in marriage Gerald Bollant on October 6, 1959 at the St. Lawrence O’toole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope WI. Together they farmed the family farm in rural Montfort. They purchased the farm from his parents and continued farming for 25 years. As the children got older, Lavon worked for the Iowa-Grant Grade School as a teacher’s aide from 1980 until 1982. Deciding to sell the farm, they built their home and moved to Fennimore in 1983. Enjoying the kids, Lavon continued working as a teacher’s aide for several years with the Fennimore High School. Lavon and Gerald enjoyed there retirement years together. They loved to travel to various places, and liked playing golf. Lavon was a loving and caring person who adored her family. She was the best Mom and a great farm wife, along with being a great cook, always dedicated to helping out around the farm and others.
Lavon is survived by her husband Gerald of Fennimore, three children; Mike (Kerry) Bollant of Waunakee, Diane Bollant of Belleville and Patrick (Holli Dixon) Bollant of Waunakee, four grandchildren; Brandon, Garrett, Kyle and Cole Bollant, two great grandchildren; Camden and Madalynn Bollant.
Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Werner Vogel and here brother William “Billy” Collins.
A private family memoral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday November 6, 2020, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort, WI with burial of in the St Thomas Catholic Church Cemetery in Montfort. A private visitation for family will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday morning.
