Keith Monroe Baumgartner, age 83, of Fennimore passed away on Saturday August 1, 2020 at the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster.
Keith was born on March 16, 1937 the son of Robert and Cecelia (Lemanski) Baumgartner. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 1954. Keith married the love of his life, Patricia Miller on June 22, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They took over the family farm and together farmed for nearly 40 years before retiring and moving to Fennimore. Wanting to keep busy, Keith was hired as a custodian for the Fennimore Elementary School for 12 years. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cutting wood, but his passions in life was farming, hunting and gathering with his family, neighbors and friends, and just being outdoors.
Keith is survived by his three children; Gloria Baumgartner of Madison, Cindy (Steve) Nicholls of Fennimore, Joe Baumgartner of Fennimore, daughter-in-law Diane Baumgartner of Fennimore, four grandsons Joshua (Bethany) Baumgartner and Ross Baumgartner of Fennimore, Brandon (Ash) Nicholls of Fall River, Ryan Nicholls (Kat Engel) of Madison, three great-grandchildren; Lylla and Brogan Baumgartner, and Henry Nicholls, two sisters; Doris Ann Wachter and Joyce Carlin, sisters and brothers in-law; Sharon (David) Winkler, Robert (Meg) Miller, Kay (Mel) Hoff, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends Craig Ward and Larry McDaniel.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Cecelia Baumgartner, his wife Patricia, his son Michael, his in-laws Kenneth and Mildred Miller, his brother in-laws Kenneth Wachter and Daniel Carlin, nephew Kelly Wachter and a niece Linda Carlin.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no formal memorial service at this time. Interment of the cremains will be at a later date in Ideal Cemetery in Fennimore Township Grant County Wisconsin.
