Nora H. Schauer, age 68, of Fennimore, WI passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning March 1, 2020 at her residence in rural Fennimore. She was born on March 28, 1951 in Bismarck, ND the daughter of Gideon and Hilda (Martel) Aipperspach. Nora was united in marriage to Curtis Schauer on September 1, 1974.
Nora graduated from Wishek High School in 1969. She attended college in Bismarck and received her Medical Assistant degree. She went to work part time for the Wishek Clinic but made sure to always take care of home first. She helped Curtis on the farm with the daily chores along with raising her family. In 1993, they moved to Fennimore and Nora worked various jobs until being employed at the Fennimore Clinic with Dr. Aguilar. While employed there, she furthered her education and became a Certified Medical Assistant. After the retirement of Dr. Aguilar, Nora was employed at the Grant County Veteran’s Office, Maski & Maski Clinic in Platteville, and recently with SWCAP and the Headstart program.
Nora was a dedicated member of the Bethany Alliance Church, volunteer at the Depot Exchange and held the Secretary position, superintendent for the Grant County Fair, volunteer a the InHealth Community Wellness Clinic in Boscobel, and a past 4-H leader with the Stitzer Golden Gates. Nora also enjoyed crafts, working in her flower garden, raising chickens, and spoiling her dogs. Nora loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, going shopping, and attending all of the grandchildren’s events. Nora’s dedication to helping others and displaying such selflessness will be forever cherished.
Nora is survived by her five children; Paul Schauer of Fennimore, James (Ruby) Schauer of Mt Hope, Surae (Matt) Cole of Fennimore, Karsta Klein of Fennimore, and Marissa (Justin) Tatu of Fennimore, 12 grandchildren, brother and sister-in-laws; Gary (Linda) Schauer, Russell (Lucy) Schauer, Dale (Linda) Schauer, Duane (Darcy) Schauer, David Schauer, Lois (Jeff) Sheldon, Linda (Winston) Enyart, Mary (Randy) Palmer, a very special cousin Lee (Carla) Aipperspach.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Curtis on August 8, 2016, father and mother-in-law Milton and Marilyn Schauer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday March 5, 2020 at the Bethany Alliance Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Thursday morning.
