Eleanor M. Studnicka

Eleanor M. Studnicka, age 96, of Muscoda formerly of Highland died on Thursday morning Oct. 18, 2018 at the Dycora Transitional Health in Muscoda. She was born on Nov. 19, 1921 on the family farm in Highland Township the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Tomas) Novak. Eleanor was united in marriage to Laverne Studnicka on Jan. 5, 1951 in Highland.

Eleanor attended school in Cobb until getting involved in babysitting for many families throughout the Highland and Blue River area. She and Laverne then purchased Highland Produce and operated that together for numerous years. Eleanor had a great appreciation for her family and dedicated many years to taking care of her mother after the death of her father. Her nieces and nephews were her children and displayed a great love for them. She enjoyed having the families get together, especially during Christmas and Easter. Eleanor liked to cook for everyone and will be remembered for her awesome apple pie and fried chicken. Her main ingredient was a lot of love. Embroidery was Eleanor’s favorite pastime and was able to do this until the end of her earthly life.

Eleanor trusted Christ as her own personal Savior in July of 1933 and Eleanor dedicated her life to the Lord. She gathered to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ with other Christians at the Blue River Gospel Hall.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews; Maxine Hassman of Blue River, Shirley Draves of Highland, David (Lois) Novak of Highland, Darvin (Judy) Novak of Cobb, Janis (James) Frazier of Blue River, Gary Chitwood of Muscoda, and Ruth (Howard) Gentz of Manchester, IA along with several great nieces and great nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Laverne in 1990, brother Archie Novak, sister Alice Studnicka, nephew Milo Studnicka, and niece Elaine Chitwood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday Oct. 23, 2018 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort with burial to follow in the Highland Public Cemetery in Highland. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday Oct. 22, 2018 at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort and from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday morning.
