Alma M. Moneypenny, age 91, of Lancaster, went to her Heavenly Father on March 15, 2018 in her home surrounded by loving family. Alma was born on Oct. 24, 1926, in Excelsior, WI the daughter of Thomas G. and Lona L. (Kirkpatrick) Meeker. She married Floyd Moneypenny on March 27, 1943 at the United Brethren Church in Byrds Creek, WI.
Alma and Floyd farmed together in the Millville and Boscobel area until 1978 when they retired and moved to Bruce, WI. While living there, they enjoyed several years fishing and watching wildlife out the window of their “lake home.” After moving back to Boscobel in September of 2009, they enjoyed gardening and family get-togethers until Floyd’s passing in August of 2011. Alma then moved to Lancaster where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Junior and Penny Hill.
Alma is survived by five children; Bill Moneypenny (fiancé, Peggy Storms) of Mineral Point, Pat (Allen) Wester of Fennimore, Cecelia Hollister of Fennimore, Danny (Sue) Moneypenny of Fennimore, and Penny (Junior) Hill of Lancaster; 16 grandchildren, Scott (Tammy) Moneypenny, Mary (Dennis) Gilbertson, Todd Edgar (fiancé Stephanie), Tami (Jim) Boebel, Shawn (John) Handfelt, Lori (Steve) Barry, TJ (Nicky) Kovars, Shanna (Rick) Johnson, Perry Moneypenny, Jerome Moneypenny, Zachary Hollister, Tim (Johanne) Hill; Lynnette, Lucas, and Charles Moneypenny; Tricia (Andy) Kipper; three step-grandchilden, Ben Handfelt, Derek (special friend Mykla) Handfelt, and Nicole (special friend Joe) Handfelt; 26 great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, son Thomas, grandson Brandon Wester, daughters-in-law, Dolores Moneypenny and Deborah Moneypenny, son-in-law Kenneth Hollister, sister Beulah Wilson, and brother Donald Nutter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Hickory Grove Lutheran Church in Hickory Grove Township, Grant Co., WI with burial to follow in the Homer Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning.
