Darrell L. “Mayor” Jeidy, age 83, of Mt. Ida, died on Thursday evening March 16, 2017 at his residence in Mt. Ida. Darrell was born on April 4, 1933 in Mt. Hope, WI the son of Adolph and Coral (Hore) Jeidy. He married Betty Grimesey on Sept. 11, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.
After graduating from Mt. Hope High School, Darrell farmed and worked for Croft’s. Mayor Began working for John Deere in Dubuque in 1960 and retired after 30 years of service in 1990. He was very active with the Wings Over Wisconsin raising pheasants in Fennimore for many years. Mayor enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and making his famous horseradish sauce.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty of Mt. Ida; five children, Bill (Debra) Jeidy of Fennimore, Vicki Jeidy of Simpsonville, SC, David Jeidy of Mossyrock, WA, Cheryl Roberts of Simpsonville, SC and Jim (Bridgett) Jeidy of St. Cloud, MN; six grandchildren, Christy (Blake) Peuse of Waukesha, Mark Olson of Fennimore, Johnie Ray (Alysha) Snodgrass of Chehalis, WA, Coral (Jordan) Hunter of Greybull, WY, Mitchell (Alysaa) Jeidy of Mossyrock, WA and Travis Roberts of Simpsonville, SC; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Janet (Bob) Bucher of Waukesha, John (Kathy) Jeidy of Cary, NC and Judy (Frank) Mathison of La Crosse.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dallas and Dale Jeidy.
The Jeidy family invites friends and family to a gathering in remembrance of Mayor Jeidy on Saturday April 1, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 P.M. at the Cottonwood Supper Club located at 4716 Green River Rd. Fennimore, WI. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family.
