Lenice Lavon Pafford, age 86 of Cottage Grove and formerly of Fennimore, died on Sunday morning June 7, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Lenice was born on May 25, 1929 in Fennimore, WI the daughter of William and Grace (Steers) Richmond. She graduated from Fennimore High School in May of 1947 and married Charles Pafford on August 23, 1947.
Lenice and her husband Charles farmed in Wisconsin and later Orangeville, and Stockton, IL for over 50 years. Lenice enjoyed lending a helping hand on the farm and raising her family. She had a love for reading and listening to Christian music, but had the greatest love for her family. She always had a smile ready for everyone and her pleasant personality and positive attitude will be forever cherished.
Lenice is survived by five children; Wesley Pafford of Lena, IL, Linda (Frank) Brown of Cottage Grove, David Pafford of Freeport, IL, Cheryl (Richard) Reusch of Argyle, and Laura (Rod) Diestelmeier of Wister, OK, 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, sister Carol Steele of Marshfield, sisters-in-law; Ina Horan of Austin, TX, and Alma Richmond of Mission, TX, brother-in-law John Pafford of Menomonee Falls and many nieces and nephews.
Lenice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles of almost 60 years on July 1, 2006, daughter Barbara Wardlow On Nov. 4, 2013, and 11 siblings.
As Lenice wished, private funeral services will be held at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery.
