John E. Walker

John WalkerAfter a valiant effort to stay with us, John E. Walker, age 60 of Montfort, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and loving family on Wednesday morning Feb. 11, 2015 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. John was born on Dec. 18, 1954 in Lancaster the son of Wilbur and Gladys (Weber) Walker.

John graduated from Lancaster High School in 1973 and then married Sandy Wilkinson. After 18 years, John then united in marriage to Diane Rego on Dec. 5, 1998.  In 1981, John worked at Rayovac until retiring after 21 years of dedication. He than became self employed and worked out of his home as a computer consultant in addition to unloading trucks in the morning at Kwik Trip in Fennimore. John’s greatest joy was having family together at his home where laughter and love filled the house. He also enjoyed spending time visiting with people and his wonderful smile and infectious laugh will be cherished forever.

John is survived by his beloved wife Diane of Montfort, three children; Phillip (Sue) Walker of Lancaster, Sarah (John) Torgerson of Fennimore, and Heather (Shawn Kieler) Wolf of Fennimore, 10 grandchildren; Emily Walker, Maia Ryman, Duncan Walker, Mariah and Ashley Lang, Drew Torgerson, Shiloh, Kiersten, Cameron and Dalton Wolf, sister Karen (Bob) Bellmeyer of Platteville, and father-in-law Cyril “Doc” (Ruth) Rego of Cazenovia.

John was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Betty (Stout) Rego.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Feb. 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 P.M. on Friday Feb. 13, 2015 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore were a Parish Rosary will be said at 3:30 P.M. on Friday afternoon. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of John E. Walker.
