MOUNT HOPE - Patrick L. Patterson passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2026, one day before his 73rd birthday. Pat was born on June 20th, 1953, the second child of Marjorie and Robert Patterson.
Pat graduated from Bloomington High School in 1971 and attended the University of Wisconsin at Platteville where he was a member of the Pioneer football team. One of Pat’s fondest memories was scoring several touchdowns at Soldier’s Field in Chicago where they were playing against a Chicago area college.
Pat worked in concrete and construction most of his life and it was on a concrete job for Marlene Freymiller where he met his future wife. Pat and Marlene Freymiller were married in October 1983 at St. Mary’s Church in Bloomington.
Pat and Marlene eventually purchased an abandoned farm north of Mt. Hope, WI where they had a cabin home built in 1993. In addition, Pat built 3 log cabins on the property; hand hewing the logs himself. These cabins were enjoyed by his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.
It was on his land that Pat was most at peace. Pat was a lover of the outdoors, sharing that love with people he knew. Some of his younger brothers’ fondest memories with Pat were in the woods hunting or fishing.
Pat had many gifts that people were not aware of. In his free time, Pat would write both songs and poetry. A proud accomplishment of Pat’s was having over 150 poems published in a book named Poems For You, Songs To Me.
Pat is survived by his wife Marlene, his 8 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews that enjoyed time with Pat and Marlene.
Rest In Peace Pat.
