FENNIMORE – Roger A. White, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at Dove Health Care in Fennimore. He was born on May 20, 1946, the son of Fred and Alice (Cooley) White.
Roger was a 1964 graduate of West Grant High School, where he exceled in all things sports. He participated in track and field, having set a state record, as well as basketball and football. Roger cherished the memories he had of getting his pilot’s license and flying around with his dad. On October 2, 1976, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Quick, at the Mount Hope Methodist Church. Shortly after, they began their journey into farming. They continued their farm until 1999, when Roger began driving semi for Richardson Trucking. In 2016, Roger finally retired at the age of 70, but his days were never spent sitting still.
Roger was always on the go. Whether it was a quiet drive with Marjorie or one of his many hunting trips to northern Wisconsin, he found ways to keep busy. He taught hunters safety for many years and took many neighborhood boys bear and racoon hunting. He cherished his time spent with family and would do anything to see his grandkids smile. They enjoyed rides in the semi and fishing trips to Wyalusing. In his later years, Roger and Marjorie began driving for the Amish community, building many friendships along the way.
A longtime member of the West Grant Lions Club and Fennimore Lions Club, Roger was active in his community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends, and even strangers. As much as he loved to be on the go, also loved his naps. Roger could fall asleep anywhere!
Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marjorie White; there children: Ronald (Tonya) White, Lynnette White (Robert Smith), and Tonya (JC) Pagel; and grandchildren: Alexis Frazier, Taetum Pagel, Braden White, and Robert Donovan Smith. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in-law: Carolyn White-Knapp, Virginia Welsh, Steve Zimmerman, and Kathy (Mark) Eggenbakken; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Florence (Frank) Krachey, Marilyn (Graydon) Crubaugh, Doris (Art) Fremont, and Ruth (Wallace) Brown; two brothers, Harold White and Virgil (Beverly) White; mother and father in-law, William and Anna Quick; brother in-law Bruce Welsh; and sister in-law Debra Zimmerman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dove Healthcare and the Agrace Hospice team for the compassionate care they provided Roger at the end of his life.
