MONTFORT – Gregory Todd Kalish, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 20, 2025, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was born on January 25, 1950, in Madison, the son of Virgil and Jeanne (David) Kalish.
Greg graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1968 and from the Madison Area Technical College in 1970 with a woodworking degree. After college, Greg worked for Cobb Lumber Company and Kraemer Brothers and then created his own woodworking business (Kalish Customs). He was an extremely talented craftsman and really enjoyed building and creating works of art that would be cherished by others and passed on for generations. He spent most of his life in the village of Montfort and was an active member of the Montfort community. He was a member of the Montfort Fire Department, Jaycees, school board, and Montfort on the Move, to name a few. He was dedicated and committed to actively participating and contributing to his local community.
Greg was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved people and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in his shop.
Greg is survived by his two siblings, David and Gerry, wife Bonnie, two sons Todd and Chris, and five grandchildren Maddie, Mia, Macie, Micah, and Maya.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Jeanne.
