FENNIMORE - Norma Elizabeth Diedrick, age 96, passed away on Sunday morning June 15, 2025, at the Lancaster Health Services in Lancaster, WI. She was born on March 10, 1929, in Barrington, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Edna (Schmidt) Leibert. Norma was united in marriage to Robert Diedrick on December 2, 1956, in North Plato, IL.
Norma was a 1947 graduate of Dundee High School in IL and worked at the Elgin Watch Factory. After her marriage to Robert, they resided in Hampshire, IL where they began farming. In 1979, they moved to Fennimore, bringing Kimarea Farms with them, and continued farming until his passing. Norma loved being a farmer’s wife along with raising her family. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to spoil them with an endless supply of ice cream bars and took them anywhere they’d need to go.
Through the years, Norma liked line dancing, embroidery work, puzzles, reading, and having coffee with friends. Norma loved traveling all around the US. Always an active member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norma served on the Evangelism Committee and was a part of the Sew N’ Sews quilt group. She was also active with the VFW Auxiliary of Hampshire, IL, assisted with the Bloodmobile, and was a volunteer foster grandparent for the Winskill Elementary School in Lancaster for many years. In addition to her time volunteering at the school, Norma donated many hours of her time to Maple Street Daycare in Lancaster, where she cherished her time spent rocking and holding the babies.
Norma will be remembered for her loving nature, great sense of humor, and the joy that she brought to anyone who met her.
Norma is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Jerry) Johanningmeir of Waukon, IA and Dawn Diedrick of Fennimore; two grandchildren, Justin (Heather) McLimans of Lancaster and Jessica (James) Weber of Ixonia; and her five adorable great grandchildren: Aspen, Trayton, and Hadley McLimans, and Aria and Arlo Weber. Norma is also survived by her sister Donna Rohrschneider of Elgin, IL.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert on April 15, 1989, and six siblings: Donald (Burlette) Leibert, Russell (Florence) Leibert, Verna (Chuck) Markgraff, Leroy (Marilyn) Leibert, Arlo (Diane) Leibert, and Gordon (Liz) Leibert.
