REWEY - Shari "Nena" Marie Jones, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening March 7, 2025, at Southwest Health in Platteville. She was born on July 13, 1963, in Lancaster, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Atkinson) Lewis. She married Dennis Jones on November 2, 2008, in Dubuque, IA.
Shari graduated from Fennimore High School and then received her CNA license from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. After working as a CNA in Platteville for a few years, Shari began babysitting in her home, so that she could remain home while raising her young children. Once her children got older, Shari went to work for Cummings in Mineral Point, where she remained for 10 years before retirement. Shari’s friendly and outgoing personality eventually led her out of retirement and working at Wal-Mart in Platteville, until her sudden passing.
Outside of working and raising her family, Shari found joy in crafting, whether quilting or making shirts with her Cricut. She enjoyed camping and fishing and spending quiet moments in a Stephen King Novel.
Shari is survived by her five children: Josh (Belinda) Lewis, David (Amanda) McNutt, Cody (Stacie) McNutt, Hannah (Freddie Barner) VanDenBeckens, and Shelby Jones (Jordan); seven grandchildren: Piper, Paxton and Phoenyx Lewis, Kayla, Alana, and Caleigh McNutt, and Kai Barner; two brothers: Steve (Carol) Lewis and Jim Lewis; and two sisters in-law: Chris Lewis and Jane Lewis, along with many special nieces and nephews.
Shari was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dennis Jones in 2021; two brothers: Kenneth and George Lewis; and her nephew Joey Lewis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
