FENNIMORE - David J. Breuer “Cooter”, age 64, passed away on Friday December 15, 2023, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Fennimore, with his beloved wife and daughter by his side. He was born on March 23, 1959, in Prairie du Chien; the son of Cletus and Kathryn Breuer. He was united in marriage to Patricia Francart on August 25, 1988.
David graduated from Bloomington High School and then entered the workforce. He worked for Fennimore Lumber Company and then joined Rossing Construction. After an on-the-job accident, David went to work for Milprint Inc. in Lancaster for 25 years until his retirement. He was a very hard worker and always dedicated to his job.
In his retirement years, David loved to go fishing, hunting, playing slots, or visiting with friends while having a beer. He would often be tinkering around home, working outside, or just sitting on his swing on the porch with his dog Max. David also loved going for car rides, especially with the top down in his Mustang.
David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pat Breuer; two stepdaughters, Kristi Francart and Nicky (Chris) Sherwin; grandchildren: Jenny Napp, Cody and Kayelee Napp, Logan, Madison, and Ian Sherwin; great-grandchildren: Jaelynn and Jaxon Moon and Brynlee and Aubree Napp; his sister, Susan Parnell; brother, Michael Breuer; along with many special brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Kathryn Breuer; two brothers, Kevin and Patrick Breuer; mother and father in-law, Mary and Luis Francart; and stepson, Lee Schulz.
Honoring the request of David, there will be no formal memorial service in his honor. There will be a “Celebration of Life” in his memory to be held at later date.
