James Keith “Jim” Kramer, 80, of Fennimore, Wisconsin passed away on September 13, 2023, at the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. Jim was born November 20, 1942, in Elkader, Iowa the son of Alfred and Charlotte (Dohrer) Kramer. He grew up on his parent’s farm and attended Elkader Central High School, graduating in 1960. Following graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for five years, two in California and three in Okinawa.
Jim worked in the banking industry for over 30 years. He was a loan officer for five banks in Iowa and one in Lovell, Wyoming. From 1976-1978, Jim was President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fairfield, Iowa. In his time in office, the order was dedicated to charitable programs for children, the elderly, and those battling cancer.
Jim loved to have fun and was always eager to laugh. He loved to connect with people and was happy to strike up a conversation with anyone. His favorite hobby was golfing. He also enjoyed playing pool, bowling, fishing, playing cards, and watching Westerns. Jim loved traveling with his wife Mary to visit family and appreciate beautiful scenery such as mountains, oceans, the leaves changing colors in the fall, and many golf courses.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife, Mary; his children, Greg (Joann) Kramer, Brian (Katina) Kramer, Kelly (Stu) Anderson and Shane (Ann) Kramer; stepsons, Rich (Brenda) Neisius and Rob Neisius (Randy Gilchrist); six grandchildren, Dallas, Gavin, Holden, Gabbie, Carly and Aspen; great-grandchildren Colt and Pierce; brother, Gerry (Sandy) Kramer, sister, Judy (Al) Enyart and sister-in-law Sandy.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents, sister, Mary Jane in infancy, and brother, Bill Kramer.
A funeral service will be held at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, with burial to follow in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home in Fennimore.
