Fennimore – Michael K. Baumgartner, age 55, died on Sunday March 30, 2014 at his residence in rural Fennimore after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Mike was born on March 18, 1959 in Lancaster, WI the son of Keith and the late Patricia Baumgartner.
Mike resided and worked hard on the family farms with his brother Joe. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 1977 with his life long best friends Mitch, Craig, and Ray. On Sept. 8, 1984 Mike married the love of his life, Diane Prohaska. They were blessed with two sons Josh (Bethany) and Ross. Then a precious granddaughter Lylla was born making five generations possible. Mike was proud of his accomplishments knowing his hard work paid off. He will be sadly missed by those close to him.
Mike is also survived by his father Keith, brother Joe, sisters Gloria Baumgartner and Cindy (Steve) Nicholls, brother-in-laws; Paul (Cindy) Prohaska, Greg (Carolyn) Prohaska, David (Christine) Prohaska, and Tim Prohaska, along with many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Patricia, and in-laws Edward and Willie Prohaska.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday April 3, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fennimore with burial to follow in the Ideal Cemetery in Fennimore Twsp. Grant Co, WI. Pastor Charles Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening April 2, 2014 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Thursday morning.
