Dodgeville – Viola E. Rezabek, age 91 of Dodgeville and formerly of Fennimore, WI, Yuma, AZ, and Palatine, IL passed away on Saturday morning March 9, 2013 at Crestridge in Dodgeville. Viola was born on October 31, 1921 in Cicero, IL the daughter of Henry and Clara (Latal) Suhr. She married Vernon Rezabek on June 5, 1943 in Cicero, IL.
Following graduation from Morton High School in 1939, Viola and Vernon were married and raised a family in the Chicago area. In 1986 she and Vernon moved to Arizona until his untimely death in 1992. Viola continued to reside in Arizona until moving to Fennimore in 2007 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed volunteering at church, attending Bible studies, writing, reading, crocheting, playing scrabble, and working crossword puzzles. Viola was blessed with many fond memories of traveling with Vernon and her family. She also looked forward to visiting her children and spending time with her grandchildren. Viola will be remembered as a caring, loving, and giving person who always put others before herself.
Viola is survived by her five children; Linda (Frank) Schoensiegel of Round Lake Beach, IL, JoAnne (Ron) Blume of Fennimore, WI, Verne (Diane) Rezabek of LaGrange Park, IL, Donald (Suzanne) Rezabek of Warren, OH, and Dale (Margit) Rezabek of Neenah, WI, as well as 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon, granddaughter Cara Lea Craig, and a brother Allan Suhr.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday April 20, 2013 at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Pastor Mark Kufahl of the Hickory Grove Lutheran Church will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon. The family would like to thank the staff at Crestridge Assisted Living and Upland Hills Hospice for the wonderful compassionate and loving care they extended to Viola. In lieu of plants and flowers a memorial fund is being established in loving memory of Viola E. Rezabek.
