Ina Wood, age 90, of Fennimore passed into the heavens of rich colors on July 3, 2012. Ina Wisdom was born March 14, 1922 on the family farm in Grant County to George and Frances Wagner. On August 7, 1941, Gilbert Wood took Ina to be his bride in Dubuque, IA. Together they farmed and raised two children, Clayton Richard and Helen Marie. In 1969, Gilbert and Ina sold their farm and moved into Fennimore. Ina worked for 18 years at Ray-O-Vac. Ina enjoyed embroidery work, and preserving produce from her garden and for others. She always enjoyed a good game of cards and a beer or two.
Ina is survived by her children, Clayton (Cheri) of Alexandria, MN and Helen Marie (Jim) Millin of Lancaster. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, Kimberly Gerardy, Melissa Wood, Barry Wood, Kyle Wood, Christopher Wood and Cara Wood, Jay Millin and Julie Moss; seven great-grandchildren Kaylee and Kyler Gerardy, Jordan Wood, Jayden and Jamison Millin, Alissa and Anna Moss, her sister, Dollie, sister-in-laws, Florence Wood and Mary Lou Wood, and several nieces and nephews.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert (1988), siblings Carol, Lila, Evelyn, Lyle and Betty and in-laws Bert and Linda Wood, Mary and Howard Schultz, Edward Wood, George Wood, Ruth Wisdom and Bob Gibbs.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Ina Wood will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday July 8, 2012 at the Hilltop Tavern in Fennimore. The Larson Family Funeral Home of Fennimore is assisting the family. Ina's family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Society for their care of mom since January, 2006.
