Richard W. “Dick” Turner, age 88 of Montfort, WI, died on Friday morning June 29, 2018, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. Richard was born on Jan. 15, 1930 in Montfort the son of Leslie and Emily (Webster) Turner. He married Madonna Hill on July 31, 1955. After graduating from Montfort High School in 1948, Richard attended UW-Platteville where he received a degree in education. Fennimore, WI – Mary Elizabeth Schwer, age 88 of Fennimore, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 feeling she lived a blessed life.  Mary was born on February 18, 1930 in Annaton, Wisconsin the daughter of Virgil and Rebecca (Seaborn) Loy. Mary is a direct descendant of revolutionary war soldier Michael Loy and a relative of Jackson Loy whose service was honored in naming the USS Loy. Mary graduated in 1948 as the valedictorian of Livingston High School and married the love of her life, Donald Schwer on Feb 14, 1949. They farmed his family farm in Fennimore Township

Douglas Theodore Daechsel, former Fennimore resident, died May 30, 2018 at the age of 97. At the time of his death he was living in Lakeville, Minnesota. Doug was born September 26, 1920, in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, Canada, the eldest son of Rev. Carl and Elizabeth (Ihrig) Daechsel. He graduated from Luther College in Regina, Saskatchewan, and began working with O.K. Economy Stores in various small towns. In 1947 he accepted a call by the Lutheran Church to help rebuild their mission field in Papua New Guinea. There he worked as the business supply manager, first in Lae and later Madang,

Frank J. Naeger, age 72, of Rewey, died on Monday morning June 18, 2018, at his residence in Rewey. Frank was born on May 29, 1946 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Francis and Marie (Cutler) Naeger. He married Eunice Myers on May 1, 1965 in Dubuque. Frank and Eunice lived in Dubuque, IA for several years before building a home in Rewey in 1972. Frank worked as a diesel mechanic at Riverside Tractor and Trailer in Dubuque until retiring in 2002. He then purchased a shop in Rewey where he operated Franks Repair until 2013. Loretta M. Hamilton

Loretta M. Hamilton, age 86, of Waterloo, and formerly of Fennimore, Wisconsin, died on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.  Loretta was born on May 21, 1932, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the daughter of James and Gladys (Zabel) Lechnir.  She was united in marriage to Willis P. Hamilton on August 20, 1953. They spent 30 years together before Willis’s death in 1983. Loretta spent just shy of 50 years in Fennimore before moving to Waterloo, Wisconsin last year to be closer to her children.
